ANXIETY

Stress can take a serious toll on your health. Here, some tips to help you sleep, eat, and focus better.

1. Shower at night. Sleep better by sanding under hot water for a few minutes about an hour and a half before you go to bed. This makes your body temperature rise – which wakes you up. When it starts to fall, you become sleepy.

2. Kick sugar. The sweet stuff makes you more emotional. Calm yourself by gradually reducing your sugar intake, and increase the protein and fiber in your diet.

3. End tunnel vision. When you get anxious, you focus on catastrophic details. Look at the big picture to keep things in perspective.

4. Say thank you. Research shows that expressing gratitude improves your outlook and mood.

5. End urgency addiction. Things come up all day that can seem like emergencies, spiking your anxiety. Ask yourself, “Is it really that important?”
